As a Powertrain Lead, I lead a group of 12 mechanical engineers on my team in the design, assembly, and testing of the entire powertrain system. However, my sub-team of 4 engineers specialized in the coolant, lubrication, and fuel systems.

The car had cooling troubles for years without a clear solution that wouldn't hinder performance. The engine was literally exploding without cooling, so new solutions were necessary. 2018 was the year of our first dual-radiator setup for our cooling system, which rejected 250% more heat than prior years while only adding around 6 lbs. I lead the design team and integrated scrum methodology to ensure the project would be completed in time for the competition without bugs.
Furthermore, the powertrain team reworked the entire drive-train, and with improving gearing system, the integration of a Drexler differential, and the addition of the PINGEL shift system, the car ended up taking 3rd place out of the ~100 international competitors at the Lincoln competition.
